About motorwick

motorwick is a free site about car reliability in the United States. It is made for adults shopping for a used car, owners who want to know whether a problem is common for their model year, and anyone who prefers counted public data to opinions.

How the pages are made

We build every table, chart and calculator ourselves from public U.S. government data: owner complaints, recalls and defect investigations from NHTSA, fuel economy from the EPA and gas prices from the EIA. Complaints are divided by U.S. sales, so a best-seller is not punished for being common, and every label follows one public rule explained on the Method page. We never publish the text of complaints, owners' locations or VINs, only counts.

Who runs the site

motorwick is an independent project, not affiliated with any automaker, dealer or government agency, run by a small team that builds free reference websites. We do not collect personal data through forms or accounts.
